Unbound by Time

Since 40,000 years ago society has learned to outsmart death by preserving memories through physical and non-physical methods such as cave paintings and storytelling. We are habitually tracking the state of our well-beings in non-physical ways more than ever before in today’s digital era. This could be in the form of blogs, social media posts, or videos. I am seeking to familiarize my audience with the history of popular contemporary methods of recording life. My thesis project aims to show an understanding on the purpose of recorded memory. It explores how the practice has changed or stayed the same over time, and its role within our lives.
